Bees are a genus of insects from the Apidae family, known in the collective imagination both for the production of honey and for the terrible stings. The endemic races are different: particularly famous are the Carnic bees, particularly widespread in Northern Italy and Central Europe, and ligustic bees , widespread in Central Italy and known to professionals for the their ability to produce honey.
The queen bees generally represent the mothers of all those present within the hive. The aim of this post will be to present in summary how queen bees develop, how they reproduce, how the replacement process takes place and how to trace them by marking.
Worker bees are female specimens, which have become sterile due to the inhibitory pheromones, or colony cohesion, of the queen bee of the hive to which it belongs.
Swarming is the way in which bees reproduce. Typically, it occurs in spring or summer and is closely linked to weather conditions. The formation of the new colony takes place when the queen bee leaves the original family with a large number of worker bees, ready to form what is known as the primary swarm. Meanwhile, within the family of origin, it was thought of developing other new queen bees, ready to replace the one that will leave the hive.
